Stabilized Hardwood™ is a more environmentally friendly and dimensionally stable product. Most of our materials are engineered for these reasons. We do offer solid wood flooring as well.

Yes, our products are made from the finest quality, Northern Appalachian, and European hardwoods.

Hardwood flooring is a renewable resource, it adds value to a home, is beautiful, and tells a unique story. Hardwood flooring is also durable, easy to maintain, and lasts a long time.

Parquets, chevron, herringbone, and any other custom patterns. If you can dream it, we can create it!

Floor vents, all stair parts, trims, inlays, color, size, width, length, and thickness can all be customizable. We provide ceiling, walls, floors, and cladding applications, as well as corresponding millwork.

Textures hardwoods are available in the following thickness:  5/8 -inch and 3/4 -inch.

Textures finishes generally consist of water-based urethane or conversion varnish. All of our finishes are high quality and should be able to withstand light commercial activity. Finishes can be customized to the application. Textures views floors as something that should be very livable and easy to maintain. So, the finish should be considered. Some finishes are very difficult to maintain and require specific materials for cleaning such as hard wax oils.

They’re all great! Wood selection is highly dependent on your desired aesthetic and usage need. We carry a wide variety of species including select northern Appalachian species and European hardwoods.

The most common type of hardwood flooring we provide to clients with busy families or pets is Northern Appalachian White Oak and European White Oak. Typically, with either of these selections, we add texture such as wire brushing. Wire brushing is not only beautiful but helps minimize the noticeability of day-to-day usage.

Most of our materials are available for delivery within 6-12 weeks. Lead time is project and material specific. Occasionally, we inventory new styles, and these materials can be available within days if inventory is available.

It depends on the circumstance. We talk through all options during our site consultation and site visits.

Textures provides turnkey service which means we can handle your project from conception through installation. Please note that installation may not be available in all areas, as we service clients nationwide. Each job is different, but our clients love working with our project managers and professional installation crews. We subcontract for installation. If we do not currently provide installation service in your area, we can provide resources to finding a certified installer in your market. We do not install carpet or any material other than Textures Flooring. Typically, we prefer to use full spread adhesive otherwise we’ll use mechanical fastening, such as staple and nailing. We do not recommend floating installations for hardwood flooring. Full spread adhesive has many benefits, it chemically bonds the floor to the substrate which mitigates popping, creaking, cracking, and moisture.

We are very sensitive to using healthy home products. Most of our products are renewable, green guard certified, and carb2 compliant. The mills we partner with forest responsibly. And most of our installation sundries or products are all low VOC water-soluble materials.

There are varying degrees of micro bevel present in prefinished hardwood flooring. All prefinished hardwood flooring has to have a micro beveling at minimum because it provides the tolerance for the undulation in all subfloors.

Yes. Every piece of wood is its own individual piece of wood. Samples are intended to show approximate color and finish.

Living With & Maintaining Your Hardwood Floors

Yes, the coloration of wood will change with exposure to UV light and whether it fades or darkens depends on the species.

Yes, it’s real wood. It will scratch, ding, and your four-year-old running a toy truck over it will leave a mark. But that’s what we believe makes it beautiful and tells the story of your family over time.

The simple answer is wood is always living and always responding to its environment. Therefore, humidity and temperature impact a wood’s disposition, whether it’s hardwood flooring or any wood product. This is why we encourage engineered hardwood floors whenever possible because they are much more stable.

From the NWFA: “With regional exceptions, wood will perform best at a temperature range of 60-80 degrees Fahrenheit, and 30-50% relative humidity. Outside this range, wood will react adversely to its environment. Relative humidity outside these ranges can affect not only the wood, but indoor air quality and human health as well.”

Cleaning and maintenance are very important aspects of caring for your floor. Do not proceed with the introduction of a cleaning material until care and cleaning have been provided according to manufacturer specifications. Cleaning solutions depend on the finish of the floors – talk to your design consultant for recommendations based on your floor selection.
